About North English GrommOffs (NEG):

Origins:

Greater Manchester GrommOffs (GMG) started in the beginning of 2015 officially, however we did have 2 unofficial events happen from October 2014 and have been happening every to every other month since. In 2017 NWG started running alongside GMG but for the areas outside Manchester. In 2018 NWG started being used for all former GMG events. NWGs traditionally target the areas around Greater Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Sheffield, however, others have joined in and through our Travel NWGs we have created a few additional monickers of East Midlands GrommOff (EMG), West Midlands GrommOff (WMG), North East GrommOff (NEG), and East Anglia GrommOff (EAG). Further afield we have Twin Cities GrommOff (TCG) in Minnesota, USA, and North Rhinelander Westphalia GrommOff (NRWG) now Stammtisch in Germany.

North West GrommOffs (NWG) in 2019 merged with North East GrommOffs (NEG) to form the North English GrommOffs (NEG) this happened at the same time as the East Midlands and West Midlands GrommOffs merged to become the English Midlands GrommOffs (EMG) to simplify our English GrommOffs both of which now meet roughly 3 times a year.

Questions:

Some questions have been asked about how many people come and what happens at a GrommOff? Well we feel it only right to answer and here it is. We have seen from 3-14 guys at every event from the very beginning. As to what happens, well that varies on what people want and the event though typically a social activity and food are staples for every NEG and EMG. This is an event to meet guys in the local area in person so as not to feel stuck in a potential bad date and to feel safe in a public get together setting, so as to be less stressful about the person you are meeting from online.

Here is a list of some of these have happened:

Food: Buffet, Restaurant, and even a Grub Crawl

Social Activities: Bowling, Irish Festival, Pool Party, Karaoke, Christmas Markets

You can see a lot of things can happen and we are completely open to new ideas add yours via this form: http://goo.gl/forms/NZ8VLkqvy1

Please note that Fatsohugebig, the NEG/EMG founder, is looking for others to help him run these events locally, let him know if you're interested otherwise if you are outside the area visit GrommOff https://www.grommr.com/Member/Details/GrommOff who is the official liaison of Grommr GrommOffs.
