A wee Bit o' Fun in Ol' Manchestah for St. Paddy's Day.
The next in the series of Greater Manchester Grommoffs targeting the areas of Greater Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Sheffield, but welcome to all.
This event is Finalized so feel free to plan accordingly. Please Note: there is an RSVP/booking by the 10th of March so get in contact with the Organizer/Host Fatsohugebig (Derrick) as failure to RSVP/Book will mean not enough reserved spaces for you to be able to attend :( extensions may be given at the sole discretion of the Organizer/Host so please get in contact ASAP. :)
.
The Plan - the idea of what will happen:
Meet inside the Printworks outside Nuffield Gym formally Virgin Active for Irony at 1PM/13:00. Let me know if you're going to be there so we don't move on without you. See Travel information Below.
1PM: The Printworks has a newly created buffet called Peachy Keens I have asked them if they would be able to accommodate our group and if something Irish would be on the menu on the 14th which would be £9.95/person. Could have an eating contest of who eats the most gets there meal paid for? open to suggestions. RSVP/Book by the 10th of March as I have booked in a table for 18 people but please let me know if you are going to be there so as to be able to change the booking as needed. See Website Below.
3:30PM: Then a little after 3:30PM/15:30 we will catch the Green Free Shuttle bus Line (2) and go passed Little Ireland and do the abbreviated Shuttle tour though we could stop and look around for a few minutes if people feel like it. Following that we will get back/continue on the shuttle bus and transfer to the Free Purple Shuttle bus (3) at Spinningfields if we feel lazy OR we could stay on Green 2 bus and get off at John Rylands Library and walk to St. Albert Sq. and go to the Irish Festival Market (9AM/9:00-6PM/18:00). See Website Below.
6PM: Then a bit after 6PM/18:00 (when the Festival closes down for the night) We will walk to John Rylands Library and get the Green 2 Shuttle back to the Printworks and go to Waxy O'Connor's for an Irish Drink and Food our area will only seat 15/16 so beware seats will go fast. PLEASE LOOK AT THE BAR MENU IN THE PHOTOS SO WE CAN DO SOME PRE-ORDERING PLEASE as we may have to move for the Velvet Tinkers at 8:30pm so no more seating. See Website Below.
10PM: I put in ending at 10PM/22:00 as that is probably when most will call it a night though feel free to stay as the bar is open until 12AM/24:00 as well there are the opportunities to hang out elsewhere.
Some of the guys are staying the night at the premier inn so if others wanted to book rooms there that'd be cool though due to the football match on the 15th the prices are a bit steep now. See website below.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me/Fatsohugebig.
.
Making yourself as Attending or Following does not count towards a RSVP/Booking, so please get in touch with me (Fatsohugebig) so I know you are attending, especially if you are not planning to be at all 3 parts.
I'm trying to form a group for ideas for events/what everyone would like to do if you are interested message me. Currently done through Whatsapp though could be through Facebook.

Travel:
By Car: For car parks Arndale is fairly cheap with plenty of room and is close to the Printworks otherwise not sure about the ones nearer to St. Albert Sq. and with the Irish Festival they may fill up faster.
By Bus: Piccadilly Gardens is the main bus terminus for routes to manchester city centre and is not too far away from the Printworks though it is a bit of a walk Shudehill interchange is very close to the printworks and many buses go by St. Albert Sq. Shudehill does Megabus Coach buses as well though National Express is typically at the coach station further away even from Piccadilly Gardens
By Tram: For Trams the St. Peter's Sq. Tram stop is the best for St. Albert Sq. otherwise Shudehill is close to the printworks
By Train: For Trains Victoria is near to the Printworks though Oxford Road has a green Shuttle
Free Shuttle system runs on Saturday 8am to 7pm every 10 minutes (green 2/purple 3) and every 6 minutes (orange 1) and connects the 4 train stations of Manchester.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me/Fatsohugebig as he knows most of the transportation system around Manchester or where to look. |
