About English Midlands GrommOffs (EMG):

Origins:

The organiser started Greater Manchester GrommOffs (GMG) started in the beginning of 2015 officially, however we did have 2 unofficial events happen from October 2014 and in 2016 there were traveling GrommOffs in Birmingham, Leicester, and Nottingham, which formed into the East Midlands GrommOffs (EMG) Meeting in Derby, Leicester, Northampton, and Nottingham, and West Midlands GrommOffs (WMG) meeting in Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby, Wolverhampton, and Worcester. In 2017 North West GrommOff (NWG) took over GMGs and the organiser also traveled to create a few additional monickers of North East GrommOff (NEG), and East Anglia GrommOff (EAG). Further afield we have Twin Cities GrommOff (TCG) in Minnesota, USA, and North Rhinelander Westphalia GrommOff (NRWG) now Stammtisch in Germany.

In 2019 the East Midlands and West Midlands GrommOffs merged to become the English Midlands GrommOffs (EMG) at the same time North West GrommOffs (NWG) merged with North East GrommOffs (NEG) to form the North English GrommOffs (NEG) to simplify our English GrommOffs both of which now meet roughly 3 times a year.

Questions:

Some questions have been asked about how many people come and what happens at a GrommOff? Well we feel it only right to answer and here it is. We have seen from 3-14 guys at every event from the very beginning. As to what happens, well that varies on what people want and the event though typically a social activity and food are staples for every NEG and EMG. This is an event to meet guys in the local area in person so as not to feel stuck in a potential bad date and to feel safe in a public get together setting, so as to be less stressful about the person you are meeting from online.

Social Activities: Bowling, Irish Festival, Pool Party, Karaoke, Christmas Markets
